Alejandra de Alba Campomanes MD MPH
Co-Founder
Dr. Alejandra de Alba Campomanes is a Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of California in San Francisco (UCSF), where she holds the Creig S. Hoyt Chair in Pediatric Ophthalmology. Her clinical practice focuses on the comprehensive assessment and surgical treatment of pediatric eye diseases like strabismus, amblyopia, cataracts and retinopathy of prematurity.
Early in her career, she realized the significant impact that the lack of access to eyeglasses had on her patients, especially for kids with craniofacial differences. Seeing how often, this was the biggest obstacle in helping her patient improve their vision, she teamed up with Dr. Frank Brodie to start the Loving Eyes Foundation. Together, they developed an innovative process to create custom glasses using 3D scanning and printing technology.
